The wind's reply

After 2 months of being with her. After 2 months of making people wonder. After 2 months of behaving just aloof enough to save from being rude and at the same time quell any dangerous ideas. After 2 months of carefully placed 'thambi's in carefully constructed replies to carefully written messages. After 2 months of not even thinking about it. After 2 months of experiencing that wonderfully curious and alarmingly nice sensation of this-isnt-love-ing someone. After 2 months of wondering if you have arrived yet.

After 4 shows, 2 parties and 8 alcoholic beverages, realising that what we have is better than love. Knowing that the choice is ours to make. Knowing that either way, we can't lose. Knowing that either way, you don't want to budge from where you are right now. Realising, as I sat next to her - 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' playing loud - looking into her eyes, that maybe I, unlike Bono, have. Just maybe, I have.

To continue what a very wise woman once said, the wind replies - Yes. Fly like you have never flown before.

I can hear it. Can't you ?

8 alcoholic beverages are the tool of the devil.

7's probably harmless, but 8 is where we draw the line.

Um... hello? I have a question! I have a question *waves arm in air*
Didn't your earlier post say, and I quote, "I am completely NOT attracted to her"? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

wah: Hmm... I usually draw the line at 9 and 5/16th but hey, thats just me ;)

To the ladies: I realise that some parts of my post may have lead some of you to beleive that I have 'decided to fly'. I would just like to point out, that this is indeed not the case. Nowhere have I really said that I have decided to fly. I beleive I have found what I was looking for, what I believed I had lost. Its an unsaid understanding between us, we both know that neither of us is quite ready for that particular flight right now. And I guess as a friend and more importantly, as someone she trusts, I should honor it.

I do hear the wind. I do hear it saying, yes, you can fly. But that other leg, firmly rooted on the cliff, just doesn't want to let go. Not yet, alteast.

LadyK: Yes, if you really came up with that line (which is quickly climbing to the top of my list of favorite poetic expressions), then you are indeed very wise. Poor Chomu ;)

Grrl: Not yet, Grrl, not just yet.

eM: What I meant was she really isn't my type. I know she would say the same thing about me. I still am not attracted to her, in a physical way. I guess what I was and still am hinting at is the fact that this is something deeper than definitions of what my type and her type is...

:)) Oohhhh.. Looks like someone is in quite the deep, eh? :) Good going, Vigs! :) One is never old enough to be a cynic or fly... :)

man, this is nailbiting!! i have been there!! i kept walking the tight rope for quite a while and then i jumped off the cliff. it was an amazing flight! (it crashlanded later...thats a different story, lets not go into it!)

but this 'thambi-kutti' business freaks me out man! if you are thinking 'tarzan and jane' and she's thinking 'will and grace', i see trouble! hope you got that sorted out :)

good luck buddy!

Ossie: I guess I am old enough to be both actually ;) Me guessing you didn't read previous replies before commenting... :P

Jax: Not to worry, sir. My feet remain firmly rooted in terra firma... and I still havent stopped laughing at the tarzan-jane analogy.. I have this crazy image of my in a Tarzan outfit and she in... well... you get the picture ;) Yeah, its funny when I call her akka and she calls me thambi... but I look at it more like a nickname than anything else... so why bother. Thanks for that comment though :))

The different stages of a relationship can usually be summed up by a U2 song or lyric. At some point, all relationships lead to "With or Without You"...

Marl: LOL ! Yes, she has two younger siblings, one of whom is engaged to a good friend (not to mention kickboxing, karate, jujitsu, salsa and jive expert). The youngest is not of legal age :))

LC: Alright now, listen up ! That isn't what this is... Gosh, if T actually read all this, she would kill me for starting this !! But trust you me, there is nothing but a nice, healthy friendship here !!

AoA: Yes... that I do agree with. Though I'm quite sure the 'relationship' you are referring to and the 'relationship' I am referring to are quite different ;)

its just no use anymore...love...its never there when you need it the most and when its there you cant have it coz its not at the right moment.. and when its at the right moment.. its the wrong person....

when does one stop fighting it.. and when does one stop letting it take its course?
*why do i have all these questions?!*

There, there, grrl... I've stopped looking. If it finds me, great. If not, well, great. Atleast Im not always trying so hard, looking so hard, that I forget to realise whos knocking on my own door. Take a breather and look around. You would be surprised to find how many people love and care about you... start right here even ;)

And I really, really think you need to go get yourself that death by chocolate at Tangerine :)

Grrl: Alright, first one is on me... it shall do my karma a world of good to see you in that joyous state associated with hot chocolatey goo over chocolate crepes filled with chocolate pastry ;)

LC: Why does everyone say that ? Everyone I know has told me that now... that MUST make it true right :)

Rapz: No dear, she doesn't. Go ahead, say it... You are in denial, Viggy... :)

the average human on an average is not very wise, not very logical and not very correct - otherwise the whole world would have been such a wonderful place to live in. so that NEED NOT be right. but hey, we are only talking about averages here - you might yet be in denial... :-D
